"Sons of Anarchy" spinoff tentatively titled "Mayans MC," received its first ever cast, "Battlestar Galactica" alum Edward James Olmos. The actor is set to portray the role of a former strong Mexican patriarch named Felipe Reyes.

Felipe is said to be a character that was "crushed by bullets and hard labor" according to a report by TV Line. The same report confirmed that Olmos will be taking the role.

As Felipe, fans will see Olmos with his sons as he leads them to live rightful and lawful lives. However, Felipe will apparently meet difficulty as he struggles to keep the details of his past buried.

"Sons of Anarchy" spinoff "Mayans MC" will purportedly begin filming next month as per a report by Variety. The show is believed to center on the life of EZ Reyes and the Mayans Motorcycle Club.

FX, however, has not named the star to play the character of EZ yet. As a potential prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the California-Mexico border, EZ is said to struggle between wanting revenge on the cartel and clamoring for respect from the women he loves.

Fans of the original show, however, should not worry much as "Mayans MC" will not veer away from the theme of its parent series. As per reports, the spinoff will still bring the presence of "Sons of Anarchy" with a focus on the men of SAMCRO in particular.

"Sons of Anarchy" Creator Kurt Sutter is expected to direct the pilot of "Mayans MC" and co-wrote the said episode with Elgin James. He is also said to act as executive producer of the series.
