Once again, TCL proves that despite being not as big as any smartphone maker like Apple or Samsung, it can take a slice of attention with its new NXTPAPER 4.0 technology.

Announced at CES 2025, the signature display technology received new improvement, not to mention the arrival of NXTPAPER 11 Plus tablet and other devices.

NXTPAPER 4.0: What is This?

Phone Arena recalls that TCL originally launched its product called NXTPAPER back in 2021. This aimed to bring forward a screen-friendly for eyes along with readability improved and more resembling paper-like than before.

Achieved by its unique hardware with the support of software enhancement for minimizing the level of blue light emission, therefore ideal for any hour-long reading or working session.

The development of NXTPAPER 4.0 adds an extra capability through nano-matrix lithography technology, which translates into a much sharper and more vibrant display. It enhances the overall user experience to create a far better-looking image even in very bright lighting.

Key Features in NXTPAPER 4.0

Beyond the visuals, NXTPAPER 4.0 brings some smart features focused on the comfort of the user. The technology introduces two personalization modes:

  • Smart Eye Comfort Mode (AI-powered) – This mode adjusts the screen according to the user's surroundings and viewing patterns to minimize eye strain and optimize the display for various lighting conditions.
  • Personalized Eye Comfort Mode – More of a self-service option that allows users to customize the display to their exact preferences, thus ensuring a customized and comfortable experience.

TCL NXTPAPER 11 Plus: The Tablet of the Future

The first device featuring NXTPAPER 4.0 is the NXTPAPER 11 Plus—a large tablet, where advanced display technology meets AI. It offers an 11.5-inch display with a resolution of 2.2K and a refresh rate of 120 Hz for smooth video streaming, gaming, and everyday productivity. New Devices in the NXTPAPER Lineup

As part of its announcements, TCL also unveiled two new smartphones that use NXTPAPER 4.0 technology:

  • TCL 60 XE NXTPAPER 5G: The middle-end product is offering the best from NXTPAPER 4.0 in the body of a compact form. No word yet about pricing, but it seems like it would be some more budget-friendly 5G.

Both phones are expected to be launched in North America, though pricing and availability details are still not known.
