"Gossip Girl" actress Leighton Meester talked about her return to acting as she embarks a new role for the upcoming TV series "Making History." She also did not forget to reflect on one of the most watched TV shows in the past, "Gossip Girl." See what the actress had to say below.

Transitioning from the CW hit teen drama to Fox' new series was reportedly an easy and difficult move for Meester. This is the first time that fans will get to see the actress on TV again following the birth of her daughter Arlo. But as per the actress, she fell in love with the script at first sight and she is proud to be part of it.

"Making History," according to Meester, is a series that "uplifts the female lead and has a not-so-subtle yet approachable commentary on the treatment and mistreatment of women throughout the ages." This is something she is proud to work on and fits her taste as a 30-year-old grown woman according to US Magazine. The former Blair Waldorf is now Deborah Reverie in the new show.

Speaking of "Gossip Girl," Meester shared how she's lucky for the fandom that the series created. She revealed that it was ten years ago since she started "Gossip Girl" when she was only 20 years old. But now that she's 30, she is taking a different role that she loves too.

Meanwhile, Meester is also reportedly working on a follow-up album to 2014's "Heartstrings" as per a report by E! News. She said she missed writing so she has been doing it on and off since last year. The actress remains hopeful that she could release another album soon.

"Gossip Girl" is undoubtedly Meester's longest running show up to date but now that she is ready to move on from the girly teen role, let's see how she will perform in the comedic TV series "Making History." Don't forget to catch her on Fox this March 5. In the meantime, check out the new series trailer below.
