Hideo Kojima and Mads Mikkelsen are working together for Kojima Productions' "Death Stranding." To shed some light on his experience, Mikkelsen was invited by Kojima for the sixth episode of his "Hideo Tube."
"Hideo Tube" is uploaded on Kojima Productions' official YouTube channel. For the past year of the company's existence, it has created several episodes for their series.
Mads Mikkelsen's role on "Death Stranding" remains a mystery. Although the episode of "HideoTube" talked about the game and his experience, not much has been revealed about the details of the game.
However, the video contained a lot of insight to Mads Mikkelsen and Hideo Kojima's relationship. Kojima has long revealed that he was a big fan of the actor. He even said he came to a point where he watched his movies every day. According to DualShockers, the developer actually had the DVDs and Blu-Rays he owned of Mikkelsen's movies.
It also seemed like Mikkelsen knew Kojima even before they met for "Death Stranding." The actor said his son knew the developer and his games and was even excited when Mikkelsen told him he'd be a part of a Kojima game.
Apart from that, they also talked about acting and being part of the game.
"I've done scannings before, for Doctor Strange and the big films that will use 3D. But obviously not on this scale, not where everything is created by you guys. We are there as a base, but everything else will be created," Mikkelsen said via GamesRadar+.
With that, the actor claimed that it was "very, very interesting" to work with only his imagination and without a set. He also revealed that he has improvised some stuff for "Death Stranding" and that was "always the thing." Mikkelsen said they would often do as the directors say, but also do something of their own. That way, they could create something different together.
The said video was almost forty minutes long. It tackled more about "Death Stranding" and acting in a game. The full video is down below.
