The "Banjo-Kazooie" spiritual successor 3D platformer "Yooka-Laylee" gets local multiplayer. The game developer Playtonic has confirmed that the game will include local co-op in a few different ways.
Players can either play with up to four gamers in the "Yooka-Laylee" collection of eight mini-games, or with one other player in the campaign. All of which can be played solo or in local co-op for up to the mentioned number of player's limit.
In the "Yooka-Laylee" campaign, the second player can join and take control of the Bee Team, and could collect quills, butterflies and stops traps. In the mini-games, players go head-to-head. It all has a leaderboard support, and can be found in Rextro's Arcade in the game, Eurogamer reported.
Here are the names of the mini-games collection: Glaciators, Kartos Karting, Blag the Flag, Gun-let Run, Jobstacle Course and Hurdle Hijinx. In 2016, the "Yooka-Laylee" Wii U version has been cancelled. This version has been part of the crowdfunding promises since the game's Kickstarter began dated on May of 2015. However, Playtonic announced that those donors who are disappointed at the cancellation of the version may individually contact them for refunds.
Despite the Wii U version cancellation due to unforeseen technical issues, the "Yooka-Laylee" will get a Nintendo Switch version. Playtonic promised that additional details regarding the game's Nintendo Switch version will be announced this year.
"Yooka-Laylee" is coming to Microsoft Windows, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It is set to be released on April 11, 2017.
