Citing the huge success garnered by "GTA 5," it is hardly surprising that avid gamers are already clamoring for the next installment in Rockstar Games' hit action-adventure video game series. But much to their dismay, the game developer has refrained from spilling the beans about the long-rumored sequel's release date.
As expected, this added more fuel to the already burning rumors about "GTA 6's" release date, locations, the protagonist et al. Since multiple sources confirmed that the sequel to "GTA 5" is indeed in the works, all sorts of speculations have been doing the rounds on the internet. Fans should not get their hopes high as nothing has not been confirmed by Rockstar Games until now.
Rockstar Games have pretty much confirmed that the "GTA 5" sequel will not be released before "Red Dead Redemption 2" hits the stores, according to TheNewHighOnlineMagazine.
With "RDR 2's" arrival been officially confirmed, the release date for "GTA 6" has reportedly been pushed back until at least 2018. Clearly, Rockstar Games is in no mood to deviate its attention from the long-awaited sequel to its Wild West series. Moreover, if the developer team's release pattern is anything to go by, a four to five years gap between "GTA 5" and "GTA 6" seems quite plausible, ExpertReviews reported.
If Rockstar Games sticks to this release trend, a 2018 release date for "GTA 6" could be on the cards. "GTA: San Andreas" was released back in 2004, "GTA 4" in 2008 and "GTA 5" in 2013.
Aside from that, both "GTA 6" and "Red Dead Redemption 2" are open-world adventures, and with "RDR2" confirmed to release in autumn 2017, it seems quite logical that the game developer keeps a more realistic time frame such as 2018 or 2019 for "GTA 6."
Nothing is set in stone at the moment; however, this hasn't stopped "GTA" fans from hazarding guesses about the upcoming sequel to Rockstar Games' money spinner, "GTA 5."
