Still riding high off the success of "GTA 5 Online," Rockstar Games has reportedly commenced the production of the long-rumored "GTA 6' video game franchise.
The rumor stems from Rockstar Games' alleged decision to slash the release of downloadable content (DLC) for "GTA 5 Online." If rumors running rampant all over the internet are anything to go by, "GTA 5 Online" will fade out as soon as "Red Dead Redemption 2" hits the store shelves.
Apparently, the game publisher will slow down the release of new updates for the hit online mode of "GTA 5" this year and it will completely put a lid on updates following the release of "RDR2" in fall, according to a blog post from Yan 2295.
Yan 2295 further explains that the game developer Rockstar North is currently branched out into 4 parts leaving just a few developers to work on "GTA 5 Online." Now, with 4x fewer devs working on the game, the upcoming updates can't be as massive as they have been so far.
Aside from that, Yan noted that some of the developers that were previously working on "GTA 5 Online" has now been assigned the task of developing "Red Dead Redemption 2" and "GTA 6." Moreover, citing the excitement surrounding the aforesaid games, it is hardly surprising that "GTA 5 Online" no longer holds the top spot on Rockstar Games' priority list.
This seems to make a lot of sense but GamingBolt suggests avid gamers should take this with a grain of salt. The team behind the alleged "GTA 6" and "RDR2" titles have neither confirmed nor denied these rumors.
Moreover, even if "RDR2" is in the works, "GTA" enthusiasts will still need some sort of content in order to stay glued to the current "Grand Theft Auto" game until "GTA 6" hits the stores. Meanwhile, there's word floating around that the game developer is gearing up to remaster LA Noire for the current title.

The original "Red Dead Redemption" revolved around one protagonist, John Marston. However, the game's sequel is likely to focus on seven characters.
