Rockstar Games' upcoming western action-adventure video game, "Red Dead Redemption 2" is without an iota of doubt one of 2017's most anticipated sequel. With this kind of excitement surrounding the game's arrival, it is hardly surprising that "RDR2" has been subject to all sorts of rumors and leaks.

While lion's share of these speculations center on "Red Dead Redemption 2's" release date, the latest buzz centers on the game developer's cash cow, "GTA 5 Online." If reports running rampant online are anything to go by, Rockstar Games will be scaling down the regularity of updates for "GTA 5."

Currently running at full force, the rumor mill has been churning out all sorts of speculations around the "Red Dead Redemption 2's" release date and other details despite the lack of an official announcement. Nevertheless, the next entry in the "Red Dead" series is most likely to hit the store shelves during the autumn of 2017.

If this comes to fruition, October seems to be an ideal month for its release. Moreover, an October launch would also coincide with the holiday period. However, the advent of "RDR2" could spell bad news for "GTA 5's" huge fanbase.

It's no secret that "GTA 5" is Rockstar Games' biggest money spinner which is currently up for grabs on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Much to the dismay of "GTA" fans, the launch of "Red Dead Redemption 2" will narrow down the online updates on "GTA 5."

It's worth noting that the game developer may not oust the fan-favorite title; however, there will be hardly any new downloadable contents (DLCs) rolled out for the game this year, Express reported.

'GTA 5 Online' On Nintendo Switch

Nintendo Switch users might not have much to cheer about this year either as the "Red Dead Redemption 2" will not be coming to the Big N's popular console, according to Mic Network. Game analyst, Michael Pachter goes as far as claiming that "RDR2" might not arrive on Nintendo.

It's worth noting that the unveiling of Rockstar Games' much-awaited sequel occurred simultaneously with Nintendo's announcement of the streaming of its Switch console. However, Rockstar Games has published only a couple of games on Nintendo, which further points to the possibility of "RDR2" not coming to any other console aside from PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Furthermore, Nintendo Switch is expected to be less powerful as compared to other consoles, meaning, "RDR2" may not stream very well on it.
