For those still unfamiliar with the games, "Clash Royale" and "Clash of Clans" were developed by Supercell and basically share the same universe. The similarities end there as both games have very different game mechanics as reported by Neurogadget.

"Clash Royale" is pretty much a tower-defense game wherein players battle against other players in real-time. From a deck of cards that players already own, a player may choose a character for either attacking their opponents' tower or for defense purposes.

The objective of the game is to destroy the opponent's towers and is rewarded one crown for each tower. A player is rewarded a chest each time for winning a match. Inside those chests are cards that may be used for upgrading and unlocking new characters.

"Clash of Clans," on the other hand, is a strategic action game wherein players design their own base and how it will be defended by their defense towers. Upgrading defense towers is an essential part of this game as other players raid each other's' bases to loot for elixirs and golds.

Both games share most of the characters such as Giants, Wizards, Golem and Pekka, but are used quite differently in each game. In addition, the games are free to play but there are in-app purchases if players want to exceed in the game quickly.

Players may enjoy both games and don't need to know one from the other, whether a player chooses to play in real-time battles or needs time to make a strategic plan of attack.
