"Supergirl" fans will be delighted to know that the adventures and drama of National City's superhero will continue for a Season 3. The news was announced by The CW during the bi-annual Television Critics Association Press Tour held on Jan. 8. Apart from the series renewal, more characters have been confirmed to arrive in National City this season, including "Batman's" The Music Meister who is set to appear in a musical crossover and "Superman's" Mr. Mxyzptlk.
Now that "Supergirl" Season 3 received a green light, fans may be more excited to see the new episodes of the show this year. Luckily, a report by Collider teased some details of the upcoming musical crossover between "The Flash" Season 3 and "Supergirl" Season 2. Reportedly, Barry Allen and Kara Davers will meet again to resolve an issue that will begin in National City and will end in Central City.
Additionally, the musical crossover will introduce a new enemy known from "Batman: The Brave and the Bold" called The Music Meister. He is a talented villain who has the power to use his singing voice to hypnotize people, forcing them to do his bidding. The CW has not confirmed who will play the character on "Supergirl" Season 2, however.
Meanwhile, another fresh addition to the list of villains in the DC universe is set to start troubles in National City. Called Mr. Mxyzptlk, the impish trickster who is popular for being the anti-hero and supervillain in "Superman" comics will be portrayed by Peter Gadiot, TV Line reported. He is expected to appear in two episodes of the show.
"Supergirl" Season 2 is set to return with its ninth episode entitled "Supergirl Lives." Fans should prepare to see their favorite superhero as she enters a portal where a Red Sun seemingly hurts her and negates her steel-like powers. In the meantime, leave us with your comments about the entry of "Batman's" The Music Meister and "Superman's" Mr. Mxyzptlk in the show.
