An official update from XCOM.com revealed that the developing team behind the "Alien Pack," "Perk" and "Laser Pack" mods for "XCOM 2" PC recently changed its name from Long War Studios. Branded today as the Pavonis Interactive, the developers are reportedly working to deliver an ambitious project called "The Long War 2" mod. Additionally, the team announced through the game's official page that more about its plans will be shared in the coming weeks.
Posted on the official Pavonis Interactive website, the former Long War Studios partnered with 2K Games and Firaxis to create the "Long War 2" mod. Interestingly, the statement mentioned that the new "XCOM 2" PC content will be free. Though no further details have been revealed, the news is reportedly welcomed by fans.
Now that a new mod for "XCOM 2" PC has been confirmed, fans are left to wait for the next update from the developers, which may come out in the next weeks according to XCOM.com. Meanwhile, the Design Lead of Pavonis Interactive, John Lumpkin, explained that the team needed to change its name to align with company's goals and projects in the future. However, the statement made it clear that the upcoming "Long War 2" mod will still be directly linked to "XCOM" games, exclusively.
