Square Enix has not officially announced the official "Kingdom Hearts 3" launch date but the development of the highly anticipated installment is reportedly progressing. Moreover, 2017 marks the 15th anniversary of the "KH" series so the game developer is seemingly gearing up to give players some neat surprises soon.
A report by KH Insider revealed a summary of a translated interview with Series Director Tetsuya Nomura posted on blog.hokanko-alt.com. As per the post, the production of "KH 3" was not affected by the work done on the remastered versions of previous games.
Nomura revealed that "KH 3" is "progressing forward" and is being developed by enough staff, continuously. Additionally, they are now working on when can they announce new information about the upcoming game.
Though "KH 3" is yet to be launched, fans of the game may be delighted to know that "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue" is set to be released come Jan. 24 on the PlayStation 4. The news was confirmed by a tweet from the official page of the Square Enix game.
As detailed by a report from Polygon, the "KH 2.8" collection includes three games called the "Dream Drop Distance," the "Back Cover," and the "0.2: Birth By Sleep." Each of which uniquely tells a tale that takes place from different parts of the whole story.
The "0.2: Birth By Sleep" and "Dream Drop Distance" which is formerly launched for the Nintendo 3DS are said to take place before "KH 3." "Back Cover," on the other hand, is not connected to the original "KH" story as it is set before the events of the original game.
Meanwhile, fans of "KH" are well aware that the well-celebrated game is celebrating its 15th year. Nomura made it clear that their team aims to finalize details for the anniversary but nothing has been decided as of this posting yet.
