Naoki Yoshida, the producer and director of "Final Fantasy XIV," left an exciting New Year's message in the official page of The Lodestone. A couple of teasers were revealed in his statement, including the release of "The Far Edge of Fate" patches and its trailer.

As discussed by Yoshida in the official The Lodestone page, the team behind "The Far Edge of Fate" Part 1 and Part 2 patches have mostly completed polishing the additions to the game. However, the team still needs to ensure that the patches are bug-free prior to release.

For this reason, fans still need to wait a little longer before they can get their hands on the new "The Far Edge of Fate" patches. But Yoshida still left some good news as he teased that a trailer is set to come out soon.

Though no trailer has been revealed as of this posting, avid players know what's waiting for them as "The Far Edge of Fate" patches come out. Yoshida already shared that two dungeons will also be introduced in addition to new side quests and characters, Siliconera reported.

Part 1 of "The Far Edge of Fate" patch is reportedly slated to ship in mid-January while Part 2 is scheduled to launch in March. No specific release dates have been announced yet, however.

Meanwhile, Yoshida also mentioned the upcoming "Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood" expansion in his New Year's statement. As per the director, the major expansion proves that the game is stable and prosperous, which gives them the opportunity to come up with more fresh adventures for players.

"Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood" expansion launch date is set on June 20, reportedly. It will bring a new class called the Red Mage that will apparently equip a hybrid fighting style of a melee and ranged magic. Check out the Red Mage below.
