"Final Fantasy" fans could now watch a TV show in Japan that is highly inspired by a title in the popular Square Enix franchise. "Final Fantasy XIV" will be heavily influencing a new program titled "Final Fantasy XIV: Daddy of Light."

"Final Fantasy XIV: Daddy of Light" is based on a Japanese blog created by an avid "Final Fantasy XIV" player. The author has written several posts pertaining to him and his 60-something-year-old father who was also fond of playing the game.

The blog is titled "Hikari no Otousan," translated as "The Father of Light" in English. Note that the title of the blog and the TV show are the same. However, there is a slight difference with how the TV show's title was translated into English.

That being said, the show will also focus on a son and his father who are bonding over "Final Fantasy XIV." The main focus would be on how the father and the son, who have huge age gap, get closer to each other by playing the popular MMO game. According to Kotaku, this is actually the first time that a "Final Fantasy" title was used as a basis of a live-action TV show.

"Final Fantasy XIV: Daddy of Light" stars Ren Osugi as the father, while Yudai Chiba will play the son. According to Japanese website Model Press, the TV show will premiere April 28. It will have a mixture of live-action and in-game scenes to narrate the story of the father and son.

The TV show will run on Japanese channel, TBS. However, it is uncertain whether it would make a Western debut, seeing as the franchise is extremely popular in the West.

The "Final Fantasy" series has acquired several feature-length movies. However, all of those were animated films and went with the story of the game they were based on. Most popular of these movies was "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children," which starred the characters from the 7th title of the franchise.
