"Final Fantasy XV" has been PS4's biggest game of 2016 in North America and it has also proven to become a great force in the gaming industry even in Japan. Now, it has reached the million mark in the country and is considered a huge hit.
"Final Fantasy XV" has sold a total of 928,815 physical copies in Japan. This was since its launch in the country in November 2016. Since Japan was not a big fan of digital copies, it was harder to acquire impressive sales on digital copies, as reported by Dual Shockers. However, seeing that digital copies tend to have more features and exclusive content, digital sales of "FFXV" in Japan reached 88,533 copies during the Christmas season.
To sum it up, "Final Fantasy XV's" total sales, both digital and physical copies, has now reached 1,017,348. But this was only for PS4 and was only until Christmas. The numbers sold on Xbox One and after the holiday season was not yet included, according to TechnoBuffalo.
As of August of 2016, the best selling games from PS4 were "Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain." It was then followed by "Knack" and then "Call of Duty Black Ops."
Now, fans of "Final Fantasy XV" are enjoying the Moogle Chocobo Carnival event that is currently live. The event started January 23 and will end on February 20. During this event, players can take Noctis to Altissia and enjoy different games featuring two of the most loved characters in the "Final Fantasy" franchise: the Moogles and the Chocobos. Sure enough, prizes await players.
Apart from the event, fans are also expecting a major update to come soon. The said update will make it possible for players to play "Final Fantasy XV" characters that were always with Noctis: Ignis, Prompto and Gladio.
According to reports, "FFXV" players could learn more about these characters. Apparently, their backstories will be featured.
