Square Enix has announced that Stormblood, the forthcoming "Final Fantasy XIV" expansion's premium-priced collector's edition is now available for pre-order, which is full of maps and art books. Stormblood will increase the game's level cap from 60 to 70 with new jobs (Red Mage) and brings in new dungeons and new areas of exploration such as a fourth residential area, raids and gear.
According to GameSpot, the Stormblood special edition comes with the expansion as well as a combination of real-world and in-game items. Real-world items include an art book, a logo sticker, a cloth map of Eorzea and most notably, an ‘expertly crafted' Zenos yae Galvus figure (size wasn't disclosed) and the exclusive in-game items include Syldra Mount, Chicken Knife and Wind-up Bartz Minio and these all sit in a special art box.
The Stormblood expansion will also add a pair of raids, one high-level ‘The Bend of Time - Omega' and one alliance raid ‘Return to Ivalice' in "Final Fantasy XIV." Reports say that there will be crafting recipes, a fourth regional district and more and for those who pre-order will get an early access to Stormblood starting June 16, a few in-game Ala Mhigan earrings and an in-game Wind-Up Red Mage Minion, reports say.
Fans can also purchase a digital upgrade, which includes the digital items on the collector's edition although the physical items are not included. The collector's edition costs $200, which is a little more than the standard edition for $40.
"Final Fantasy XIV" Stormblood expansion preordering via the PlayStation Store also offers an exclusive theme and avatar. The expansion was announced in October 2016 along with the 4.0 update and this will be launched on June 20.
"Final Fantasy XIV" Stormblood increases the minimum specs of its PC version and will not be available on PS3. Preorders for the PC and PlayStation 4 collector's edition can be made through the Square Enix Store.
