Amidst the lack of an official announcement, Apple's iPad Pro 2 has been subject to several rumors and leaks. Now, the latest buzz around the Cupertino-based tech firm's purported flagship tablet suggests it's coming sooner rather than later.

A previously surfaced report coming from TechRadar pointed to a March launch for the iPad Pro 2, but that didn't prove to be true. Although Apple launched a new iPad, it wasn't the iPad Pro 2 that Apple fans have been restlessly waiting for.

While there's still no sign of the long-rumored flagship tablet, a bunch of new rumors has found their way on the internet. Here's a rundown on the Apple iPad Pro 2's rumored release date, specs, and other details.

Apple iPad Pro 2 Release Date

If rumors running rampant online are anything to go by, Apple might reveal iPad Pro 2 at its looming WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference), which kicks off June 5 in San Jose, California. The iPhone maker is also said to give fans a brief glimpse of the iOS 11 at the event. Tech pundits deem this event as an ideal platform for Apple to debut its iPad Pro 2; thus, there's word floating around that the new tablet will be unveiled at the WWDC 2017.

Earlier this year, a report from MacRumors suggested that the 12.9-inch iPad Pro stock is drying up globally just days ahead a trio of new iPads were set to launch. As expected, this stirred conversations among tech enthusiasts who believed Apple actually paved the way for iPad Pro 2's arrival. There's also hearsay that the iPad Pro 2 will feature a radically upgraded Apple Pencil, which might include a magnet on the inside allowing it to stick to the new tablet.

It's been a long time since the report surfaced online and Apple has not yet given any sort of sign that indicates it is indeed prepping to restock the previous iPad Pro. Lining with this, a user known as Lucasdavidgray in a forum on Mac Rumors' website noted that he has not spotted a single iPad Pro on nearly every Apple store in the U.S. Lucasdavidgray claimed this might not be just because Apple is low on stock at the moment.

To further back his claim, Lucasdavidgray also pointed out that the shipping for every model on the company's website now takes about two to three weeks. Ideally, it wouldn't take about a month, meaning, Apple might have some aces up its sleeve.

A like-minded user in the forum also pointed to a possibility that the iPhone maker might actually be gearing up to set the stage for a device that's likely to launch either next month or in June.
