Despite the rumor mill churning all sorts of speculations around Apple's highly anticipated iPad Pro 2 and the iPad mini 5, details about the devices' exact release date window were hard to come by. But thankfully, that's about to change. Much to the delight of iPad enthusiasts, multiple sources are now claiming that the long-awaited tablets could be unveiled at an exclusive Apple spring event.

Apple iPad Pro 2, iPad Mini 5 Release Date

A recently surfaced report from Apple World Today added more fuel to the already burning rumors about the new iPads impending launch. The said report alludes to April 4, 2017, as the release date of the new iPads i.e. the iPad Pro 2, which is expected to come in three sizes including 9.7 inches, 12.9 inches, and a new 10.5 inches -- and a new 7.9-inch iPad mini 5.

Although this may turn out to be merely a shot in the dark, the publications uphold its claim by pointing to the availability date of the existing 12.9-inch iPad Pro. The aforesaid tablet is no longer up for grabs on the Apple online store with its product page showing a shipping time of 2-3 weeks. What's thought-provoking is that when clicked, the 'check availability' link shows April 4, 2017, for every model.

Meanwhile, some optimistic tech pundits predict that Apple could finally address the long-reigning issues with the current generation iPad Pro's Apple Pencil in the upgraded iPad Pro 2, which is expected to come in the spotlight at the company's rumored spring event. Moreover, the recently divulged patents hint at a magnetic connector that would allow the stylus to latch onto the iPad Pro 2, according to ValueWalk.

Apple iPad Pro 2 Features

The iPad Pro 2 is rumored to sport a 12.9-inch screen. Under the hood, the water resistant device is said to pack an A10X processor, 2GB of RAM (9.7-inch model) and 4GB of RAM (12.9-inch model). If this comes to fruition, the iPad Pro 2 could arrive with 4GB to 6GB of RAM or even more.

Aside from that, PC Advisor believes that the iPad Pro 2 could boast enhanced camera quality. Furthermore, the comparatively slimmer and lighter tablet could follow in the footsteps of the iPhone 7 and get rid of the headphone jack.

While it remains to be seen whether or not the new iPad Pro 2 and the iPad mini 5 tablets are unveiled next month, rumors are rife about the 12.9-inch model of the iPad Pro 2 indicating that the device could come bearing a price tag of about $800.
