Tech enthusiasts have restlessly been waiting for Apple to shed more light on next iPad's release date, specs and other details; however, the Cupertino based tech titan is in no mood to answer their prayer. But fret not, the internet is still brimming with all sorts of rumors and leaks regarding the iPad Pro 2. Let's delve straight into them.
While Apple continues to keep details about its high-tech tablet under wraps, a slew of recently surfaced reports claim that the iPad Pro 2 could be announced sooner rather than later. An acclaimed research firm told MacWorld that Apple is gearing up to take the wraps off a new line of products this month -- during the week of March 20, to be precise.
Regrettably, the sources did not specify the products Apple will unveil; neither did they throw more light on whether or not the announcements will be accompanied by a press event. However, Mac Otakara gave this suggestion its seal of approval.
The Japanese blog alluded to some local analysts who claim Apple will unveil a second-generation 9.7-inch iPad Pro next week. The analyst cited the company's lack of a scheduled event for next week and supply chain information.
It can be recalled that Apple usually sends out invitations to the media at least 10 days before a launch event; interestingly, this hasn't been the case so far. It is possible that either Apple will secretly send out a press release and update its online stores, or it will be a last-minute unveiling.
There's a word floating around that the 9.7-inch iPad Pro 2 model will be just an iterative upgrade, and a press release could be an apt method of unveiling the device. This model is expected to boast quad microphones. Meanwhile, other rumors running rampant online suggest the device will pack a comparatively faster Apple A10X chip.
Not too long ago, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo indicated that Apple will announce a low-priced 9.7-inch iPad tablet along with a 12.9-inch iPad Pro model and a brand-new 10-inch or 10.5-inch model. Furthermore, Apple is testing new iPad models in Cupertino and nearby locations, according to TechCrunch.
If this proves to be true, Apple will be unveiling a new iPad lineup this spring. There's also hearsay that the 9.7-inch iPad Pro 2 could be announced sooner rather than later.
