The new anode and cathode materials Samsung is developing will enable it to fit in larger batteries for smartphones without having to sacrifice their slim form factors, according to a recent leak from the Korean platform Naver. This would mean that it could have a battery with capacities as high as 7,000mAh or even 8,000mAh, without the bulk of current high-capacity models.

Oppo also is said to be preparing devices with batteries up to 7,000mAh, an indication that this manufacturer is also innovating at the level of integrating larger batteries into thin and efficient devices.
In fact, some reports mention that Chinese manufacturers are pushing it to the limit with up to 8,000 mAh battery, and they are expected to release it later this year.
Rapid innovation on the part of Chinese manufacturers is nudging the likes of Samsung and Apple to innovate faster if they hope to retain their position at the helm.
