Sony took the wraps off the Xperia XA1 at the recently concluded Mobile World Congress (MWC) confirming an April 26 launch for the said smartphone, which will come bearing a $299.99 price tag. The Japanese handset maker also unveiled the device's larger variant dubbed, the Xperia XA1 Ultra, which arrives this summer carrying a slightly steeper price tag.

Much to the delight of smartphone lovers in Europe, some European retailers have managed to get hold of Xperia XA1 stocks ahead of the device's scheduled launch. Aside from that, Clove, a retailer based in the UK recently confirmed that shipping for Sony's mid-range Android phone will kick off April 10, which is about more than a couple of weeks ahead of the device's scheduled arrival.

Clove is currently accepting pre-orders for the Sony Xperia XA1, which sells for £229 (about $280). The smartphone is up for grabs in four different colors including White, Black, Pink and Gold, according to Phone Arena.

Under the hood, the Xperia XA1 packs an octa-core MediaTek processor, paired with 3GB of RAM and a considerable 32GB of internal memory, which is expandable.

One of the device's key selling points is its colossal 23MP primary camera that features Sony Exmor RS sensor. For the selfie addicts, the Xperia XA1 comes with an 8MP front shooter and a modest 5-Inch display with HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.

In terms of connectivity, the device offers 4G, Bluetooth 4.2 and USB type-C. The handset is just 8mm thick and weighs in at 143g.

The larger variant of the Xperia XA1 boasts a bigger 6-inch Full-HD resolution (1080p) display. On the photography front, the Xperia XA1 Ultra sports a 16MP front snapper. The smartphone packs the same MediaTek chip but coupled with 4GB of RAM. It remains to be seen if this device goes on sale in Europe.
