Following the recent launch of its high-end Xperia XZs smartphone, Sony has taken the wraps off its mid-tier Xperia XA1 phone in India.

Sony gave smartphone enthusiasts a brief glimpse of the Xperia XA1 at MWC (Mobile World Congress), which took place in Barcelona, in February, along with the XA1 Ultra, Sony Xperia XZ Premium, and Xperia XZs. Let's take a look at the Xperia XA1's specifications, price, and other details.

Sony Xperia XA1 Price & Availability

The Xperia XA1 is currently up for grabs across all major electronic stores and Sony Centers across India, bearing a price tag of INR 19,990 (about $309). The recently launched smartphone will be available in three color options including White, Black, and Pink, the Japanese handset maker announced on Tuesday, April 11. Interestingly, the Xperia XZs hit the store shelves in the country on Tuesday as well.

Sony Xperia XA1 Specifications & Features

The Xperia XA1 is a mid-tier phone packed with mid-tier specifications. The device is housed in a near all-polycarbonate body with Corning Gorilla Glass protecting the front of the smartphone. The phone features an aluminium-made outer frame.

On the right, the Xperia XA1 flaunts Sony's characteristic silver round power button in style and also sports a dedicated camera shutter key. As if that weren't enough, the phone now comes with a fingerprint scanner, according to IndiaToday.

The Sony Xperia XA1 sports a 5-inch HD display with 720x1280 pixels resolution and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat. The dual-SIM (Nano + Nano) smartphone packs a 64-bit MediaTek Helio P20 octa-core (quad-core 2.3GHz + quad core 1.6GHz) SoC, under the hood.

The Xperia XA1 comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, which can be expanded further up to 256GB using the microSD card slot. In terms of optics, the handset features a rear-mounted 23MP Exmor RS image sensor with hybrid autofocus, HDR mode, 5x zoom, f/2.0 aperture, and 24mm wide-angle lens. There is an 8MP front camera (without front flash or OIS), Gadgets 360 reported.

As far as connectivity is concerned, the Xperia XA1 offers NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C port, and 4G VoLTE. The device is backed by a 2300mAh battery.

The smartphone's dimensions are 145x67x8mm and it weighs in at 143 grams. With the purchase of the Xperia XA1, consumers will also get three months free subscription of Sony LIV. The device also features a Qnovo Adaptive Charging technology that keeps an eye on the battery's health and alters charging current accordingly, thus avoiding damage and maximizing lifespan.

Aside from that, Sony Xperia XA1 features a Stamina Mode that ensures the device's battery keeps going for longer by disabling a slew of other functions and increasing the lifetime.
