North America is still waiting for the release of an English "Persona 5." To give a glimpse of what fans can expect, an 11-minute gameplay footage of the game was released. It showed various dungeons and the combat system used in the game.
GameSpot originally revealed the "Persona 5" English footage on February 8. However, note that the gameplay takes place two hours into the game. Therefore, there are a few minor spoilers, especially about the dungeon they are exploring in the video. Still, it does allow players to have some sort of idea on how "Persona 5" is played.
According to Twinfinite, "Persona 5" dungeons have a feature that allows players to know when there is danger of being caught by the Shadows. This feature is a detection meter which can be found in the upper left area of the screen. Through this detection meter, it is also possible to sneak around the dungeon and create surprise attacks on enemies.
Apart from that, demon negotiations are also back on "Persona 5." These negotiations make it possible for the players to ask Shadows for money, items or even have them in the party.
The "Persona 5" video shows the protagonist of the game and a few new characters. It shows how players are able to get into the dungeons; on what seemed a phone app. Apart from the hero and his confidante, another seemingly innocent character gets sucked in as well.
Besides the gameplay featured in the 11-minute video, it also shows some difference between "Persona 5" and "Persona 4." One of the differences they showed was the setting. "Persona 4" takes place in a small countryside town in Japan. For "Persona 5," the protagonist has moved back to the big city.
"Persona 5" is a Japanese RPG game that is developed by Atlus. Chronologically, it's the sixth installment in the "Persona" franchise. It's originally released in Japan in September 2016 for PS3 and PS4. It has been localized and will be released in North America on April 4, 2017.
