Marvel fans are on the edge of their seats as "Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War," which is slated for a 2018 release, will have a surprising main character. Unlike the other movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that feature the heroes, the cross-over movie will put the spotlight on Thanos (Josh Brolin).

Collider has revealed that according to Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios President, Thanos will star in "Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War." Feige teased, "Thanos in Infinity War is - in a movie that has a lot of characters, you could almost go so far as to say he is the main character, and that's a bit of a departure from what we've done before, but that was appropriate for a movie called Infinity War."

Fans will definitely be eager to see how Marvel portrays the villain in the upcoming movie since he has mostly been absent in the previous titles and is only glimpsed in post-credits scenes like in "Avengers: Age of Ultron." Collider posits that Thanos has his work cut out for him since it appears that he has yet to get his hands on any of the Infinity Stones.

In 2016, fans got a sneak peek at Brolin who was photographed at a "pre-production test of his motion-capture suit," per Game Spot. He also revealed that they decided to use mocap instead of CGI for Thanos. Brolin shared, "I'm there and I'm not in a booth. I'm being filmed."

The actor added, "I have a bunch of crap on my face. I'm being filmed by like 34 cameras? Thirty-six cameras? Something like that. Every movement, everything. So, it's very new to me, it's very exciting, it's very unnerving."

"Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War" is still in production, and the film will be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. The Russo brothers previously worked on "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" and "Captain America: Civil War." "Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War" will hit cinemas on May 4, 2018 and the untitled fourth Avengers movie is slated for a May 3, 2019 release.
