"Drawn to Death" is the latest work of David Jaffe, a recognized video game designer and director. The game was first revealed at the PlayStation Experience in December 2014 and now, its release date has been announced already. Based on the notice, it will hit PS4 on April 4.
To mark the "Drawn to Death" release date announcement, Sony published a video which feature an inside look at the development of the game. Jaffe explains how the game was developed and what inspired him to do such type of video game where everything in the game is hand-drawn, from characters to the littlest detail.
Game Overview
According to PlayStation website, Drawn to Death" is a PS4 exclusive title. It is a third-person shooter game that is played within the pages of a highschooler's notebook.
The notebook is filled with doodles and sketches but there are lots of actions as the characters attack each other. Players choose a character and place them in the map to start playing.
All characters possess special attack skills, personalities, weapons and so on. The arenas or environments are typically black and white as they are drawings, but they hold many secrets that players can utilized to defeat opponents.
Features
The new game offers four important features and this include the unconventional combat, players level up through completing challenges, players can choose to play solo or a team and the unique pencil sketched visuals.
Moreover, unlike most shooter games today, "Drawn to Death" have longer ‘time to kill' and this is actually better. This refers to the amount of time that players can expect to live on before being forced out to respawn.
"The time to kill is long in ‘Drawn to Death and we do this because we want players to have more chances for chases across the maps - where tables get turned and map knowledge allows hunted players to become the hunters," Jaffe told PlayStation Blog.
Finally, "Drawn to Death" will be available for purchase for $19.99. Jaffe's studio called The Bartlet Jones Supernatural Detective Agency is the game's developer. David Jaffe is best known for his known projects like "God of War" and "Twisted Metal."
