Nintendo President, Tatsumi Kimishima, revealed in a recent interview that the online feature of Nintendo Switch will only cost 2000 - 3000 yen or $17.60-$26.40. The projected price range mentioned is already the annual fee for the online service for the new Nintendo hybrid game console.

Kimishima, in an interview with Nikkei, said that the video game company will be able to fully commit to all its customers with the introduction of paid services. According to the report, the online paid services is likely to apply to multiplayer online gaming.

The $17.60-$26.40 Nintendo Switch online annual fee may also be applied to the library of classic Nintendo games that will be made available for download. It can be remembered that the video game company announced that there will be monthly downloads of classic Nintendo games for the Nintendo Switch.

With the price range mentioned by Kimishima, the Switch online paid services may be the cheapest video game online service available to date. However, many video game experts believe that adding an online paid service for the new hybrid game console is a bit questionable.

Online multiplayer and other online services were made available free of charge for the Wii U. The video game company has yet to release details about what players can actually get for subscribing to their paid services. The monthly downloadable classic games are also not enough to justify the annual payment. This is because players will only get to play the games for a month and players cannot retain these games after the one month period.

Aside from the paid annual subscription for the Switch, Kimishima also discussed the possibility of introducing a virtual reality feature for the Nintendo Switch. Kimishima said that the VR support may be introduced once they resolve certain issues about the tech.
