While rest of the gaming realm are already taking advantage of VR (virtual reality), Nintendo seems to be thinking twice before jumping the VR bandwagon, and here's why!

New games are been rolled out on a weekly basis; for instance, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe this Friday, and the Nintendo Switch's portability and adaptability make it an ideal device for avid gamers who prefer playing games in various situations. However, the Big N has refrained from going in for virtual reality.

Back in 2016, Nintendo patented a VR headset that many believed was designed solely to hold the Switch tablet; however, gamers questioned the device's practicability. In an interview with Nikkei earlier this year, Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima noted that the company "will do it" provided they manage to take care of the issues related to playing (VR) for long hours in comfort

In the bid to figure out exactly how VR would look on the Switch, a YouTuber known as Nintendrew took his console and placed it into a Durovis Dive 7 headset, and much to his delight he noted that any tablet sized headset could be slotted. Then, using the device's hidden web browser, he navigated to YouTube and uploaded an aptly formatted video footage from "Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time"

Although it worked, he realized this option was not spared from flaws. Apparently, there are some issues associated with video quality due to the width of the screen, TheVerge reported. It is not ideal by any stretch of the imagination since the screen width for each eye is merely 500 pixels wide. Besides, the overall resolution of the screen is just mediocre.

Nintendrew believes the company will completely ignore that drawback as the popular console maker continues looking into every possibility of integrating VR into its latest console, the Switch. Meanwhile, avid gamers can adopt the device's workarounds to check out its capabilities.
