Sledgehammer has been teasing "Call of Duty" 2017 for some time now, and it is also looking to hire people to work on the game's development. The science fiction setting of "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" did not seemed to engage well with players. This may mean that the next updates for "Call of Duty" 2017 will have to work to allay the fan base. The creators involved with the franchise seem to be well cognizant of that, too, and they announced a three-year development cycle for the games back in 2014.

Recent developments, however, suggest that Activision has more in store for players. The company's website has rather remarkable stuff posted as a requirement for a certain spot on a job listing. It says one of the responsibilitieswill be to "create and iterate on the second to second experiences" in the game, writes Gaming Bolt.

Call of Duty 2017: Gameplay, New Maps

The description certainly implies that maps in "Call of Duty" 2017 will be centered around a gameplay experience that will shift the flow of the game itself rather than its structure. There have also been talks about "Call of Duty" 2017 being set in the time of the Vietnam War. It's no surprise that Activision decided to go back to the past and produce games based on real-world historical conflict, especially after the 50 percent drop in sales "Infinite Warfare" logged compared to "Black Ops 3."

Since the "Infinite Warfare" trailer drew over 3 million dislikes, it's a smart move to go back to boots on the ground and no futuristic weapons, trust jumps, wall running, exoskeleton suits, etc, according to Game Rant. The release date for "Call of Duty" 2017 is estimated to happen in early November 2017. This is based on the last 4 titles being released between November 4 - 6 in each year. Michael Condrey from Sledgehammer Games previously announced the game was in pre-production back in February 2015. For now, we will keep everyone posted for updates.
