Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) did return to Star City on "Arrow's" Season 5 episode 10 winter premiere. However, turns out to be Laurel's deadly Earth-2 doppelgänger, Black Siren. Black Siren had been released from the S.T.A.R. Labs pipeline by Prometheus in an effort to mess with Oliver (Stephen Amell). But it didn't take long before Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) discovered her deceit, and fake Laurel brought chaos on the Arrowcave.

The Doppelganger Uncovered

Earth-2 Laurel claims she only acted against them because Prometheus was threatening her life. Actually, it was Earth-2 Oliver's death that eventually led her down this dark path, with Laurel revealing a rare vulnerable side to the doppelgänger of the man she used to love. Nonetheless, she takes a chance to turn the screws with Felicity and is then locked up in a secure A.R.G.U.S. facility by episode's end, writes Entertainment Weekly.

Tina Boland: Potentially The New Black Canary?

Tina Boland (Juliana Harkavy), a new badass in leather, used her own version of the Canary Cry to incapacitate bar thugs in Hub City. The reveal comes just after Oliver says he wants to keep his promise to Laurel of training a new Black Canary, they just need to find the right woman.

Executive Producer Wendy Mericle said that Tina's going to factor into the back half of the season as she comes into the story in a really interesting way. "She's like Oliver, has lost somebody and is hell bent for revenge. She is an amazing fighter. She has a lot of skills, and she's very much a peer of Oliver," Mericle continues.

According to Inverse, it's very likely, given her access to the Canary Cry, that Boland will become the new Black Canary after whatever pushback and tension has to happen in a TV drama. Harvaky played a role in the series "Walking Dead" as Alisha for four episodes.
