A brand-new series of games under the title "Avengers: Reassemble" has just been announced. After making some announcements, both Marvel and Square Enix revealed a new project: a joint venture for a new game based on the "Avengers."
Square Enix and Marvel: A Powerful Alliance
Square Enix and Marvel are joining forces for what's described as "a multi-year, multi-game partnership." The first of these is "The Avengers: Reassemble," which will be developed by Crystal Dynamics, the people behind the "Tomb Raider" remakes.
Square Enix tweeted, "Big News: @SquareEnix and @Marvel announce a multi-game partnership leading with "The Avengers" project. #Reassemble." Thousands of fans immediately retweeted and marks it with a heart. Another tweet from the chairman of Marvel Comics, Stan Lee goes, "@Marvel & @SquareEnix revealed The Avengers project. This entertainment partnership is a powerful alliance!"
"The Avengers: Reassemble" Overview
"The Avengers" venture is being designed for gamers worldwide and will be complete with all the characters, environments and iconic moments that have delighted longstanding enthusiasts of the franchise. Presenting an entirely original story, it will host a universe gamers can play in for years to come, notes Gematsu.
The game doesn't have a title yet, but it's set as the lead-off to a multigame deal between Square Enix and Marvel. While one might associate Square Enix with Japanese RPGs like "Final Fantasy," the company has a deep bench of quality Western developers.
"The Avengers: Reassemble" project is in collaboration with Deus Ex studio Eidos Montreal, the makers of "Mankind." No platforms or release date have been announced yet. Nothing more is known about the game at the moment, but there is a short teaser trailer for the fans to check out below.
