Looks like "Call of Duty" fans are in for a treat as Sledgehammer Games' Glen Schofield has teased a slew of new details about "Call of Duty 2017," which is expected to bring the hit first-person shooter series back to its origin following a couple of not-so-exciting chapters for old school fans.
Schofield, who, along with his team of developers worked on "Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare" claims this year's "Call of Duty" will be their best "CoD" game to date. Sledgehammer Games teased the upcoming title via a vague New Year's tweet, which led many to hazard a guess that 2017's "Call of Duty" game will be set in the 20th century.
Much to the chagrin of the series' huge fanbase, Schofield refrained from divulging more details about the game. Nevertheless, he confirmed that it will feature boots, ground and "roots." Sharing his excitement on Twitter, Schofield said he was looking forward to unraveling more details about "CoD" 2017 as soon as possible.
Urging fans to wait until more details are made public; the studio head guaranteed "Call of Duty 2017" will sweep them off their feet. In fact, he deemed the new "CoD" title as the studio's best yet, Gamepur reported.
'Call of Duty' 2017: When Exactly Is It Arriving?
As far as "Call of Duty" 2017's release date is concerned, Schofield resorted to keeping his lips sealed. He claimed he had no idea exactly when the title is slated to hit the store shelves as he is just involved with making the game.
Nevertheless, if Sledgehammer Games sticks to its release pattern, "CoD" fans will be able to catch a glimpse of the upcoming game in the form of a reveal trailer in May, while a multiplayer preview could be unveiled at E3 2017.

Aside from that, he claimed Treyarch's "Call of Duty 2018" game could be announced alongside "WAW Remastered."
