The PlayStation VR is undoubtedly an impressive piece of technology. It has a fair amount of great games, but it's safe to say that at this point, the first AAA game that takes advantage of the peripheral might just be "Resident Evil 7 Biohazard."
Yet, as with most things, not everybody can partake in the best that life has to offer. "Resident Evil 7" in VR is not for everybody, unfortunately. Here are some things to consider if the intense experience is for you.
If You Get Easily Scared, Then No
UploadVR says that a good litmus test to whether "Resident Evil 7" in VR would be too much for you or not is to give "Until Dawn: Rush of Blood" a go. This game is a PSVR-exclusive with lots of creepy moments and solid-jump scares. If you can't make it through most of "Until Dawn," avoid RE7 at all cost.
If Motion Sickness Gets To You Quick, Then No
While not everybody has to deal with motion sickness, some unfortunate ones easily get nauseous. Following E3, reports of "Resident Evil 7" in VR making gamers sick made quite a ruckus that Capcom instituted measures to even the issue out, reported Metro.
Despite it all, though, the game might still bother anybody who's sensitive to motion sickness so it's best to just avoid it. You don't want to be throwing up all over your room, do you?
If You Want To Experience The Best Immersion Yet, Then Yes
Well, this is just sad to the people who belong in the aforementioned points above, but to be completely bold about it, the best way to experience "Resident Evil 7" is the VR way. The immersion is incomparable and everything feels so real, especially in encounters with the lurkers of the dark. When an enemy picks you up off the ground and gets in your face, it really feels like you're being lifted off of the ground.
Now then, is it a yay or a nay for "Resident Evil 7" in VR? Tell us of your experience below!
