After the launch of the Nintendo Switch, many have speculated about the fate of the Nintendo 3DS. The recent launch of the "Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King" may just answer the numerous questions, Nintendo has not forgotten and did not abandon the Nintendo 3DS.

Many have questioned the fate of the Nintendo 3DS after the recent unveil of the Nintendo Switch. Some speculated that Nintendo may just abandon the 3DS since the new hybrid game console can already be used by video game players as a hand held video game system.

However, this may not be the case as "Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King" has just given the 3DS its first must have video game this year. The "Dragon Quest" game franchise first appeared in PlayStation 2 about 13 years ago and the recent release of its eighth installment "Journey of the Cursed King" for 3DS is an excellent news not only for fans of the video game but for avid Nintendo 3DS players as well.

According to iDigitalTimes, "Dragon Quest VIII" features a more RPG like game experience compared to the previous games of the franchise. This is particularly because of the implementation of the Skill Points' system in the video game.

With the Skill Point System, players of the video game are given the choice of what skills are to be mastered. As a character levels up, a skill point reward is given which may be allocated by the players to any of the skills of the "DQVIII" character.

Also, the Skill Point System in the "Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King" gave the game an extra layer of difficulty. Each of the video game character's skills must be leveled up in order to be competitive in going to boss battles. The game is a product of another collaboration between Square Enix and Nintendo.
