Niantic is preparing to release another "Pokemon GO" update patch and it is still not the update that players are expecting. Worse, the new update patch for the game may make it difficult for players to hatch Pokemon eggs instead of making it easier for players.
According to reports, the new patch will resolve glitches in the GPS drift of the game. This may sound harmless but the alleged glitch that Niantic would like to reportedly fix in the new "Pokemon GO" update patch is not something that players would like to be fixed.
The new "Pokemon GO" update patch is said to improve the distance tracking of the game which in turn will better account for GPS drift. So what is GPS drift?
GPS drift glitches occur when the satellites used to determine the actual position and movement of "Pokemon GO" players fails to determine the right location or if the signals thereof gets scrambled. The glitch will then result to an added distance for players who are trying to hatch their Pokemon eggs.
Though the glitches only account for about 0.1km added distance, the distance adds up and is still of great help to "Pokemon GO" players. Also, the GPS drift glitches give away more than the 0.1km normal distance boost.
The new update patch will put an end to the unintentional "Pokemon GO" bonus. However, this does not mean that the new update patch is all bad. Fixing the GPS drift glitch will also correct the errors in the calculation of distance that players actually take.
A lot of players have already voiced out their disappointment due to the inaccuracy of the "Pokemon GO" distance meter. Some players even report that the distance meter for Pokemon game was only able to account for half the distance they actually took.
