Fans of the movies should be excited as a pilot pickup for the new "X-Men" TV show could come in the next week or two by Fox, according to a report by Gamespot.
Matt Nix, the show's creator, recently gave details about the new TV show at the Critics Association's winter press tour.
Nix confirmed that the new show will have connections with the movie universe. He explained that people who are fans of the movies as well as the comic books shouldn't be confused at all to where this show will fit in the mythology. He added that he might use familiar characters as well as characters that he will create exclusively for the show.
According to a report by Indiewire, the show is about two normal parents discover that their children have mutant powers that made them go on the run. Events will occur after established mutants learn about the children having mutant powers of their own.
The characters that are original for the show were created with the mythology in mind; however, Nix explained that he is working hard to sidestep fan questions of where iconic "X-Men" characters are like Wolverine.
The new show will have no connections with "Legion," also an "X-Men" inspired show on FX. Nix stated that he watched "Legions" so he wouldn't step on anything that the show is doing. The show's official title is being kept a secret for now, Nix says.
This was not the first attempt by Fox at an "X-Men" series as they were developing a show called "Hellfire" back in 2015. Fox later dropped that show and was replaced by this new series.
Nix stated that the new "X-Men" TV show will run for a maximum of 13 episodes per season.
