The first "Avengers" movie was released back in 2012. Since then, resident SHIELD-agents Clint Barton alias Hawkeye (played by Jeremy Renner) and Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow (played by Scarlett Johansson) have been riling a portion of the fandom up with their easy on-screen chemistry and constant hints about a shared history.

Black Widow was romantically paired with Bruce Banner (aka the Hulk, played by Mark Ruffalo) in Avengers 2: Age of Ultron. But fans have yet to let go of the potential this power couple obviously has. And it seems like Jeremy Renner agrees with them.

According to International Business Times, the Bourne Legacy actor stated in an interview with Metro, a British newspaper publication, that a movie starring the two character would "make sense" due to their similarities. Both characters lack superpowers but more than make up for it with commendable skill sets in espionage, weaponry and hand-to-hand combat.

And as mentioned earlier, they have obvious history. "I don't think there are any discussions about that happening," the 45-year-old reportedly said. "I'd love to do it though."

EpicStream follows up on the same interview and then segues into Renner talking about the other Avengers cast members and what they've been doing by way of preparation for the next big Marvel Cinematic Universe film, "Avengers: Infinity War". They've already shot scenes in London, EpicStream reports, with Atlanta as the next location shot.

It's interesting to note that Johansson's character, Black Widow, has been a part of the MCU ever since 2010, when "Iron Man 2" was released. Technically speaking, she's been a longer standing member than both Captain America (Chris Evans) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth), and yet she's the only member lacking a solo film.

While there's no word from Marvel Studios whether a "Black Widow" or a "Black Widow & Hawkeye" spinoff movie is in the works, fans can only hope. In the meantime, there are a three MCU movies coming out this 2017 to look forward to.
