Although the "Resident Evil" franchise has been greatly successful, the game experience of the newer games was far different from the first ones. The first "Resident Evil" game focused on surviving a zombie-infested Raccoon City. However, it slowly turned to a zombie-killing game as time flew by. That is what developers of "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" are trying to avoid now.

According to Straits Times, Capcom has promised that the game will be coming back to horror. The setting of the game will be different than the previous titles. This time, "Resident Evil 7" will take place in a haunted mansion in Louisiana, along with the surrounding lowlands.

The players will also meet a new character named Ethan -- a new protagonist. Ethan is searching for his missing wife, four years after the events from the previous games.

As for the gameplay, Capcom will still include the popular weapons found in all "Resident Evil" games, such as pistols, flamethrowers and shotguns. Nonetheless, "Resident Evil 7" will focus more on resource management and puzzle solving rather than action and combat. This gives a more difficult approach to playing the game and, of course, a fresh gaming experience.

The best possible part is that players could feel the horror ten times as the game is supported by PlayStation VR. This means they can feel like they are Ethan themselves and feel the thrill and adrenaline rush firsthand.

According to PowerUpGaming, Capcom's Hajime Horiuchi has spoken in an interview about the game's difficulty. He confirmed the level was raised intentionally.

"We wanted to focus more on the aspect of fear. We worried that if the game's too easy and these enemy encounters aren't too big of a deal then players aren't going to feel that tension, not going to feel that anxiety," Horiuchi said. "We wanted to make sure that even if you're pitted up in a one versus one situation, that one enemy is capable of killing you."
