Gaming has come to a whole new level. Since the glory days of platform game legend "Super Mario," games have transformed into more awe-inspiring stories to glorious visuals. Every now and then, an unforgettable comes and stays. Some simply go. But it's not just the games that are developing; the consoles are, too. This year, the gaming world can expect to see a "console war" unlike any other.

2017 is the year when Nintendo Switch is finally being released. For a while before the console was officially announced, Nintendo was quiet about it. Fans did not know what it was and how it would change the gaming experience. During its development, it was merely called NX.

Soon enough, NX was officially announced as Nintendo Switch and coming to the market soon enough is a hybrid console. The Nintendo Switch combines living room console gameplay with portability. According to Forbes, the console is not a powerful one and may not actually be as strong as the consoles that are available right now. However, Nintendo is betting that won't actually matter.

The console's ability to innovate the gaming experience of every player is bringing positive buzz to the console's upcoming release. Add to that the fact that "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will be released with it and is playable on this console, as well.

But Nintendo Switch is not the only console coming out this year. 2017 also calls for the release of Microsoft Scorpio.

There isn't much to say about Microsoft Scorpio as there aren't that many details about it. However, it is bound to be powerful especially when it comes to graphics and framerate. Apparently, games from Xbox One can be played on the console but with higher resolution and with better framerate.

US Gamer noted that the Microsoft Scorpio will boast a "six teraflops of GPU power" according to Microsoft. Apart from that, its 60 hz will render a "native, true 4k."

Nintendo Switch will be available on the market this coming March 2017. Microsoft Scorpio, on the other hand, will be launched around holiday 2017.
