With its looming release date, more in-depth details about "Friday The 13th: The Game" are bound to come out. Here's everything we know so far about the upcoming survival horror video game.

'Friday The 13th: The Game' Gameplay

Developed by Illfonic and Gun Media, "Friday The 13th: The Game" is set in the anecdotal camp of Crystal Lake in the "Friday the 13th" franchise. Interestingly, eight people can participate in every match.

"It's a classic horror fan's dream, no shaky cam, no found footage," game developers Illfonic and Gun Media told GameSpot. "We want you to know we're revitalizing the golden era of slashers, and putting you at the controls of each horrific, blood-splattered moment."

One player can play the main character Jason Voorhees, while the seven other players can choose from ten camp counselors - Kenny Riedell, Brandon "Buggzy" Wilson, The Preppy Guy, Adam Palomino, The Girl Next Door, Deborah Kim, The Athletic Girl, A.J. Mason, The Flirty Girl and The Nerdy Guy - and play as the victims of the main character.

The objective of "Friday The 13th: The Game" is for the seven players/counselors to survive the entire night by running from Jason Voorhees. Notably, the latter can be defeated by teamwork and planning.

"While Jason can be an immensely daunting, seemingly unstoppable force, he is able to be brought down with an 'epic' win condition," the developers further explained on its Kickstarter page. "It'll be difficult, require some teamwork, and perhaps a bit of ingenuity, but we'll be giving you the tools and opportunities to realize the biggest win in horror gaming."

The survival horror video game will then end when all the seven players are killed by Jason Voorhees. With this, a Friday the 13th-themed trailer will then play - showing the highlights of each match.
