Just as fans are getting excited with "Friday the 13th: The Game," more news about the movie reboot is coming. This weekend, a casting call was announced. Apparently, filmmakers behind the reboot are looking for someone fit to play the role of young Jason Voorhees, as well as somebody who can portray his dad, Elias Voorhees.
Bloody Disgusting says that the "Friday the 13th" reboot is slated to come out in October 13 -- a Friday. The production will take place in Georgia and will start on March 19 to end May 4.
Reports reveal that some part of the "Friday the 13th" reboot will focus on the origin of Jason. That being said, it will feature Elias Vorhees, the father of the famed antagonist, who is said to carry a pivotal role in the film.
Those who have been following "Friday the 13th" since the comics version would know who Elias is. He was often depicted as an abusive person, a monster who is a threat to both Jason and Pamela, his mother. However, it seems like the movie will have a different version of Elias.
The casting call is looking for a "powerful-looking" Caucasian man between 30 to 50-years old. The description of Elias in the "Friday the 13th" reboot says he is a park ranger working in the vicinity of Camp Crystal Lake. It also mentions that he "sees the wickedness in Jason and the effects it has on Pamela" and leaves them while continuing his work as park ranger nearby.
Apart from these, a few known facts about "Friday the 13th" movie are also released. According to Geek Exchange, Breck Eisner ("The Crazies," "The Last Witch Hunter") will be directing the reboot. The script will come from Nick Antosca and Aaron Guzikowksi.
