Latest reports claimed that "Hunter X Hunter" will actually return, although its exact release date is still uncertain. It is said that the 361st chapter of the manga would take some time before it will see the light.

"The last time the series was put on hold, it was because of Togashi-sensei's lower back pain and once again, his condition has gotten worse, necessitating a break again," "Hunter X Hunter" publisher, Shueisha, told Rocket News 24. "At this time, it is not certain when we will be able to resume the series."

Earlier reports claimed Yoshihiro Togashi has a birth defect called Spina bifida, where there is an incomplete closing of his spine and membranes around the spinal cord. With this, Reporter-Times noted that the doctors have reportedly prescribed complete bed rest for the manga artist.

It is said that his condition has turned out to be excessively extreme, making it impossible to go back to the drawing board. As a result, the manga's publisher reportedly hired new writers to work under the artist's guidance.

However, the new writers reportedly failed to satisfy the Togashi's vision for the series, The Bit Bag reported. Thus, the series publisher decided to put the manga on hold.

Although nothing has been set in stone yet, rumors afloat that the manga will return in April or May 2017. Knowing that the series stopped publishing at chapter 361, just in time when the Dark Continent Arc started, it is said that the next chapter will begin with Kurapika, proceeding with her in-depth investigation of the baffling deaths on board the Black Whale.

Fans will have to continue to stay tuned for more updates on the release date of "Hunter X Hunter" chapter 361.
