Yoshihiro Togashi's "Hunter X Hunter" is still on a hiatus and while the creator has yet to officially announce its return date, several reports claimed that the 316th chapter of the long-time running manga will see the light in February 2017.

Many fans were upset by the news that Yoshihiro Togashi's "Hunter X Hunter" manga went on an indefinite hiatus again. It can be recalled that the manga has been on break since 2014.

The sudden indefinite hiatus has been ascribed to the creator's recurring back pain. As beforehand reported, the 50-year-old manga artist has been suffering from extreme pain from the hips downwards, which apparently limited his movement and inability to sit and write for a long period of time. Hence, a short break is necessary for his quick recuperation.

"The last time the series was put on hold, it was because of Togashi-sensei's lower back pain and once again, his condition has gotten worse, necessitating a break again," "Hunter X Hunter" publisher, Shueisha, told RocketNews24. "At this time, it is not certain when we will be able to resume the series."

The manga ceased at chapter 360, just in time when the Dark Continent Arc began. According to a report by Movie News Guide, the producers were reportedly looking for new scriptwriters that would continue the series on behalf of Yoshihiro Togashi.

However, it appears that many were not buying the claims. If such an opportunity arises, many fans believed that the new writers working on the series may not be able to match Yoshihiro Togashi's unique creativity and tone.

"Hunter X Hunter" follows a 12-year-old boy, Gon Freecss, who sets out on a perilous quest to take the rigorous Hunter Examination after he finds out that his father, who he was told was dead, is actually alive and a renowned Hunter. Along the way, he picks up three companions - the revenge-seeking, Kurapika; a mischievous child, Killua Zoldyck; and an aspiring doctor, Leorio Paladiknight - who also aim to pass the said examination.
