The 351st chapter of "Hunter X Hunter" manga did not air as planned. Though nothing has been confirmed yet, latest reports suggested that the critically-acclaimed series might return in early 2017.

Speculations are rife that the series may take another year off and return at some point in 2017, claiming that "Hunter X Hunter's" author Yoshihiro Togashi reportedly needs some time off his work to focus more on his fast recovery.

As we have previously reported, the series' unexpected hiatus might be due to Yoshihiro Togashi's health problems. The 50-year-old manga artist's recurring severe back problem is rumored to be the main reason behind the manga's sudden and continuous hiatus. He is suffering from severe pain from the hips downwards, which seemingly restricted his movements.

"The last time the series was put on hold, it was because of Togashi-sensei's lower back pain and once again, his condition has gotten worse, necessitating a break again," Shueisha, the publisher, told RocketNews24. "At this time, it is not certain when we will be able to resume the series."

However, numerous fans responded contrarily to the series' indefinite hiatus, calling the manga artist names such as "unmotivated" and "lazy." It can be recalled that the manga series first went on 20-month hiatus before it returned last April 18.

While many fans across the globe have shown disappointment on the manga's development, some of them are apparently hoping the creator will be able to return as soon as possible. Apparently, there is no official date as to when "Hunter X Hunter" manga series will return.

"Hunter X Hunter" was one of the best-selling manga in Japan, having sold more than 60. 5 million collected volumes as of February 2012. It was then adapted into a 62-episode anime television series in 1999 and has spun off light novels, video games, audio albums, and several musicals.
