The popular Japanese manga series "Hunter X Hunter" creator Yoshihiro Togashi has been present on several manga events early this year leading fans to conclude that the series is finally ending its hiatus. Fans have discussed that the manga series chapter 361 is returning in February.

According to a thread on Reddit, it's highly possible that the new chapter would be released in February as Togashi has been told by publisher Weekly Shonen Jump to start issuing new chapters on that month. Otherwise, they are going to pick someone else to pen it.

Reports say that Togashi has specially assigned his wife award-winning Naoko Takeuchi to pen the next chapters of "Hunter X Hunter" series and the script for the new chapter is already under production. Takeuchi's famous works include "Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon" and "Codename: Sailor V."

"Hunter X Hunter" has been a hit with both domestic and international readers although it is known to have been inconsistent with releasing its new chapters and has been prolonging its hiatuses. In March 2016, fans have finally rallied behind Gon Freecss as he returns after almost two years of waiting although it was a brief appearance as the manga series only started its serialization in April 2016 and the publisher confirmed that it's going on another hiatus yet again in July.

According to Comic Book, publisher Weekly Shonen Jump's announcement on the series' hiatus did not include any information on the manga's return date and fans are still patiently (maybe) waiting for its comeback. Togashi has been real quiet about "Hunter X Hunter" manga series' comeback but had previously cited his physical condition (chronic lower back pain) as the reason why the manga has been on hiatus.

"Hunter X Hunter" follows a story of a boy named Gon Freecss, who learned that his father (who he was told is dead) is in fact alive and a world-renowned Hunter. Gon sets off to follow his father's footsteps and finding his father eventually although his journey did not come easy as he encountered the paranormal along the way.
