On Friday, Bethesda Game Studios released a new version of the "Fallout 4: Far Harbor" to fix performance issues on PlayStation 4, reported by Polygon.
It was reported that some of the PS4 users have been experiencing performance issues especially with its frame rate since it debuted. According to Eurogamer Digital Foundry's analysis, it only runs about 20 frames per second when it comes to outdoor environments and due to its fog effects it lowers down to 15 fps. While, Xbox One runs at a good 20-30 fps for the DLC.
Instead of releasing a new patch, Bethesda opt to update the "Fallout 4: Far Harbor DLC." In order for the changes to take effect, the developers suggested that players need to re-download the whole game.
The company has provided instructions on how to do it. First, players need to make sure that the game is no longer running. To check it, they need to highlight the game's title at the PS4 dashboard and press "options", then choose "close application" to secure that it's no longer operating.
After which, PS4 users have to select "related items" located at below the "Fallout 4" icon in the dashboard and then, choose "my add ons." Next to the "Far Harbor" title, they need to select on the download arrow.
The expansion will automatically be placed to the download section and players need to patiently wait for it to finish the installation before starting the game.
If any case that players will encounter some errors, Bethesda said that, "If for any reason these steps do not work, you can delete Fallout 4 (and all add-on content) and simply reinstall the game (and add-ons from scratch)," reported by IGN.
It was revealed that the new expansion is the game's third DLC pack and their biggest as of the moment.
The newly released "Fallout 4: Far Harbor" updated version of the DLC is currently available in North America. However, the developers have assured that EU players will receive it in the "very near future" as announced through their official Twitter account.
