The recent update for "Fallout 4" sets new limits on the number of mods for PS4 and Xbox One. This unannounced cap came as a surprise and leaves players of both consoles disappointed.
Before the update arrived, players on the console version were enjoying larger number of mods and only limited by the amount space that is required by mods. After the update, there is also a limit on the number of mods at any time and that is 100 on PS4 and 150 on Xbox One and 100 on PS4.
According to UK Daily Express, while it looks like its big enough space for mods, there are hundreds of them for players to choose from and this allotted space is not enough. However, Bethesda said that these changes are placed to keep things stable. They have also confirmed that similar changes are applied to "Skyrim: Special Edition".
"The mod limits implemented this week to Fallout 4 and Skyrim Special Edition has been put in place based on our internal testing for stability to the game," reads a post on the developer's forums. Bethesda added that with the new caps, there are players who will not reach the storage limit for mods.
But the added capacity for mod storage will allow players to have bigger mods within the 150/100 limit. The developer assured that these changes may only be temporary and will be subject to possible changes.
Bethesda assured that they will continue to update both "Fallout 4" and "Skyrim Special Edition" specifically on mods. It assures fans that they will update them they are "able to address these concerns" through release notes in the future. PS4 Pro gamers apparently are not affected, and in fact the update is a big boost to their gaming, some reports say.
The "Fallout 4" Update 1.14 is one of the last major projects of Bethesda that was rolled out recently for PS4, PS4 Pro and Xbox One. Mods are big new feature for console fans, but PC players on the other hand have been enjoying this feature for a long time.
