The recent updates to "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Special Edition" and "Fallout 4" has introduced a limit to the number of mods that can be used in the games at a single time. The mod limit came as surprise to video game players as the said change was not mentioned in the patch notes for the updates.

Bethesda Games "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Special Edition" and "Fallout 4" updates have been recently unveiled. The updates are now available for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 version of the games.

Before the recent updates were introduced, players were only limited by the amount of space required by the mods. The new cap for number of mods used was just discovered by players after the recent updates were released.

The new mod cap introduced by the recent "Fallout 4" and "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Special Edition" updates will limit the number of mods at 150 for Xbox One. A 100 mod cap is imposed for the PS4 version of the games.

According to a post on Bethesda's forum, the mod caps were introduced for the stability of the game. The need to impose a mod limit is said to have been discovered in an internal testing conducted by the game developer.

The "Fallout 4" and "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Special Edition" mod cap will not affect a player's library. The only effect of the recently imposed mod cap is that it limits the number of mods that players can use to the 150/100 cap.

The imposed 150/100 "Fallout 4" and "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Special Edition" mod cap is said to be only the starting point. The post from the Bethesda forum suggests that the mod cap may be adjusted and that the company will continue to update both games.
