A purported LG G4 press render has just surfaced online, allegedly showing an early, non-final version of the smartphone.

Previous rumors have indicated that the next-generation LG G4 would skip the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 and instead make its formal debut at an event in April. LG has not confirmed the unveiling expected next month, but the LG G4 was nonetheless absent from the MWC trade show.

The LG G3 stirred lots of interest and was widely considered one of the hottest Android smartphones of 2014, rocking high-end specs and features all around. The new LG G4 is expected to be even more impressive, boasting improved specs and a more premium design.

Back in mid-February, a report out of Korea claimed that LG was planning to release its G4 in April instead of the MWC in order to avoid competition with other flagships such as the Samsung Galaxy S6.

Nothing is official just yet, but the purported LG G4 is now the star of a new leak. More specifically, tipster @OnLeaks has now posted an image allegedly showing an early, non-final version of the upcoming LG G4. As you can see in the image above, the purported device looks very similar to the current LG G3.

The purported LG G4 seems to have a more powerful rear camera, but otherwise the design looks mainly unchanged, with the same Rear Key layout and the same form factor overall. From this angle, the device also seems to have a slightly curved display. OnLeaks also notes that the LG G4 will measure 1149.9 x 76.5 x 9.9 mm.

As previously mentioned, however, the tipster notes that this is an early render and not the final design of the LG G4, which means that the next-generation flagship smartphone from LG may in fact look differently.

When it comes to specifications, previous leaks and reports have tried to anticipate what's to come. The LG G4 is expected to rock a QHD display just like its predecessor, meaning a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. Under the hood, the handset should pack Qualcomm's latest 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor, i.e. the same one powering the LG G Flex 2. The LG G4 should further sport at least 3GB of RAM and a 16-megapixel rear camera. Earlier reports also claimed the LG G4 would come with a stylus to challenge Samsung's Galaxy Note 4.

If rumors turn out to be accurate and LG indeed plans to unveil its new-generation LG G4 at some point next month, more information should come to light shortly. For now, LG has provided no official details regarding the LG G4 launch, so it's best to take all leaks with a grain of salt.
