Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 810 processor is reportedly facing some issues that may delay the launch of some 2015 flagship smartphones, according to a new report.

Some of the most highly-anticipated flagship smartphones of 2015, such as the Samsung Galaxy S6, the LG G4, and others, are expected to rock the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 CPU when they launch next year. Qualcomm recently unveiled its processor and launched the Snapdragon 810-powered MDP smartphone to show it off, suggesting that it will be ready for use soon, but it now seems that it may face some delays.

More specifically, a new report out of Korea claims that Qualcomm has yet to resolve several issues with its Snapdragon 810 processor. Consequently, the chipmaker may find itself forced to delay the chipset's mass production, which would in turn affect the launch of the Galaxy S6, the LG G4, and other flagships expected to pack the CPU.

The report in question comes from Business Korea (via GforGames) and claims to have learned from an industry insider that Qualcomm is facing several serious issues with its new Snapdragon 810. One of these issues reportedly entails the CPU overheating when reaching a certain voltage, which results in significant performance drops. Other issues reportedly relate to the RAM controller connected to the application processor, and to an error in the Adreno 430 graphics drivers.

If Qualcomm is indeed facing such issues with its new Snapdragon 810, it may not be able to put everything in order in due time for the chipset's mass production. If it comes to this, OEMs such as Samsung, LG, and others, may either have to delay their 2015 flagship launches, or opt for other chipsets such as the Snapdragon 805 instead. Either way, it would not be the most desirable outcome.

As GforGames points out, Samsung has its own Exynos chipset that may serve as an alternative, but LG doesn't seem to have a viable fallback option. On the other hand, it's all in the rumor state for now, and there's still a chance that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset will be ready on time. We'll keep you up to date as soon as more information becomes available, but take everything with a grain of salt in the meantime.
