The 2015 LG G4 may come with stylus capabilities in tow to challenge the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, if a new report turns out to be accurate.

Samsung has enjoyed great success with its S Pen-touting Galaxy Note lineup of devices, and the latest Galaxy Note 4 is widely considered one of the hottest devices currently available on the market. Other companies such as ASUS, NVIDIA, and others have tried to launch stylus-enabled devices, but didn't rise up to Samsung's Galaxy Note success.

According to a new report, LG is the latest company to join the race, aiming to challenge the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with a stylus-packing device of its own - the upcoming LG G4.

LG has gained significant ground on the smartphone market in recent years, with its LG G2, LG G3, and its Nexus handsets stirring lots of interest among consumers. The company is reportedly working on an LG G3 successor already, and a new report out of China now claims that the purported LG G4 will come with a stylus of its own. According to ITHome, the LG G4 will launch as a direct competitor to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, but also the iPhone 6 Plus, as it will compete on the phablet market.

Not too long ago, word came out that LG had filed a trademark for an LG G Pen, suggesting that a new device with stylus capabilities was in the pipeline. This would not be the first time LG launches a device with a stylus, but it seems that the company has perfected its technology in the meantime and the LG G4 could be powerful enough to challenge the Galaxy Note 4 to the core.

ITHome further reveals that the upcoming LG G4 will sport a 5.3-inch display with a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The size, however, may sound a bit unlikely considering that the current LG G3 has a 5.5-inch screen. Other purported specs of the LG G4 include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage capacity, complete with microSD support for additional memory. The LG G4 is further expected to rock a 20.7-megapixel rear camera and ship with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.

With nothing officially confirmed at this point, however, it's highly recommended to take this report with a grain of salt.
